What counts as a rewrite?

Pressing Smash AI Slop on a draft, or rewriting a highlighted passage. Everything else is free on every plan and always will be: the score, the spelling and grammar checks, the editing reports, fixing an individual finding, swapping the catalogue words, making a passive sentence active, and undoing any of it. A rewrite that changes nothing is not counted.

Is my writing sent to a language model?

No, on any plan. There is no model in the product. Detection runs in your browser, and the rewrite runs on our server against a rule engine - a 722-term lexicon, 27 sentence patterns, 22 formatting checks and a 49,000-word spelling dictionary. That is why every change can tell you which rule produced it, and why the tool can say what it will not touch.

Why can I switch checks off?

Because some of them are genre, not fault. Documentation says "the value is read at boot". A paper says "the samples were incubated". Passive voice, buried verbs and hedging can each be turned off, free on every plan - being charged to stop a tool arguing with you would be an odd thing to sell.

What happens to my drafts?

Accepted Answer

A draft is sent to our API only when you press a button that rewrites it, and it is processed for that request rather than stored. Nothing is sent to a third party, no human here reads it, and none of it trains anything. The extension sends nothing at all unless you ask for a rewrite: everything it underlines it worked out in your browser.

Do I need an account to try it?

Accepted Answer

No. The checker, the reports and five rewrites a day work without signing in. An account is what makes your settings and word lists persist beyond the session - signed out they hold until you close the tab.

Can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, at any time, and the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Annual is a quarter cheaper per month than monthly.

Question 7

How is this different from Grammarly?

Accepted Answer

Grammarly corrects English. This finds the patterns that make writing read as machine-generated - the vocabulary models over-use, the flat sentence rhythm, the stock openers, markdown pasted where it cannot render - and it does the spelling and grammar too. A draft can be perfect English and still read as generated; those are different problems and we measure the second one.

What if it flags something I meant to write?

Tell it once. "Never flag this word" adds it to your list on every future draft, and the three genre checks can be turned off entirely. The score also refuses to count evidence that is only an absence: a draft is not marked down for being impersonal or evenly paced unless something positive corroborates it.
